So, my family is huge, like 20 cousins, a million babies huge. We kind of have this baby shower thing down...but for Christmas, my mom thought it would be a good idea to buy me a Cricut. So for the first baby shower of the year, I got to go Cricut crazy on it!

It was a great opportunity for me to explore different ways to use the Cricut to make different types of projects. I tried to start small. I know there are a TON of other things I could have created to add to the baby shower gifts and decor, but here is what I did!

The first project I created was the banner using cardstock. The Cricut design space has a template for banners. It was great for creating the actual banner shape/size, and also figuring out the correct size of the letters. I learned very early to make sure you are using the correct dial position so your cardstock cuts all the way through...it's a nightmare if you don't! I also used cardstock to make antlers for the cupcakes and cute little 3D deer and confetti to decorate the tables.

Isn't this cute little saying adorable! It's not an original...it's all over Pinterest. The big secret...instead of using vinyl(which is kind of expensive) I use contact paper to make my stencil! And another little secret, to prevent your pain from bleeding under your stencil, add a thin layer of Modge Podge before you paint!

I was MOST excited about making these adorable onesies. It was my first time working with heat transfer vinyl, and BY FAR, this was the easiest Cricut project yet. They were too cute to wrap up, so I hung them on twine to display at the shower! The only downside of the HTV is it is a bit pricey. Another way you can put your create designs on cloth, is to cut your stencil out of freezer paper with your Cricut, iron it on, and use fabric paint. I haven't tried this yet, but I have a few ideas up my sleeve for upcoming projects!

I finally gave up on waiting for the UPS guy to deliver my vinyl! I made a trip to JoAnn's last week and grabbed a roll so I could put a little vision I had into action. It turned out EXACTLY like I imagined!

I started getting excited as I finished weeding my vinyl and then when I applied it to the mixer...I may have even done a little dance! I love how it turned out!

What do you all think? Fellow Cricut friends, here is the link to my design: Bakers gonna bake!

I hope you all have a fabulous time celebrating the new year!

I finally turned on the Cricut today and created my first masterpieces...TOASTING GLASSES! (I decked out the champagne bottles, too)

Aren't they adorable! I can't wait to share them with my friends tonight!!! What will you be toasting to at midnight!

I just don't even know where to begin with this.... like not just this blog post, but this machine. It is out of the box. Sitting on my counter. I made the "first project" I ordered some vinyl. But I HAVE no clue what I'm going to do with it.

Something awesome and EPIC...or so I hope!

Stay tuned for future projects and most likely a few fails :P I can't wait to share this new crafting adventure with you all!
